CAREER GUIDANCE
Services offered
through the ASSESSMENT/GUIDANCE CENTER are designed
to assist individuals in the career decision-making
process and the development of a plan for accomplishing
the determined career goal.
Services include:
· CAREER ASSESSMENT
The career assessment program of the ESGVROP/TC
has been identified as exemplary within the State
of California and serves as a demonstration site
for other districts and agencies wishing to establish
or upgrade this service. This program assists students
in gaining an awareness of their interests, aptitudes,
abilities, and values through a series of tests
and inventories. This self-knowledge is essential
in making satisfying decisions about one's career.
· CAREER EXPLORATION
Resources are available to learn about the various
aspects of the multitude of job opportunities in
this country. In addition, college and technical/vocational
school catalogs are housed in this center to enable
students to plan for the education necessary beyond
high school. These services are available by appointment
to all students. (The Del Norte Center houses the
Assessment/Guidance Center which is open from 8:00
- 4:00, Monday through Friday.)
In addition, the school has contracts with the California
State Department of Education, Department of Rehabilitation
and Job Training Partnership Act for assessment,
guidance, training and placement.
