SUNFLOWER COSMETOLOGY CORNER NEWS FLASH
Crystal Covarrubias originally from Walnut
High School started our Cosmetology Class
as a senior in the Fall Semester of 2000/200l,
graduated from high school in June 2001. She
continued as a Post Secondary student after
graduation, Fall Semester 2001/2002 and went
on to complete her 1600 hours on 4/16/02.
On 6/13/02 she took her state board examination,
which she passed with flying colors. Since
passing her exam she is now California licensed
cosmetologist.
Right behind her we have two more students
that have completed their 1600 hours. Karina
De La Torre and Gabriela Gonzalez they were
formally from West Covina High School. Started
our class Summer of 2000. Graduated from high
school June 2001. They continued as Post Secondary
students, Fall Semester 2001/2002.
Karina De La Torre completed her 1600 hours
3/28/02 and is scheduled to take her state
board exam on 7/8/02.
Gabriela Gonzalez completed her 1600 hours
6/6/02 and scheduled 6/27/02 for state board
exam.

There is three more students that were Juniors
when they started our program. This June 2002
they have graduated from their high schools.
They are very close in completing their 1600
hours.
Cesar Maldonado, Teresa Hernandez, Walnut
High School and Joyce Ho, Diamond Bar High
School. All three plan to continue as Post
Secondary Students this coming Fall Semester.
They all have approximately 400 to 500 hours
to complete their 1600 hours.
