JOINT POWERS AGENCY
The East San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational
Program and Technical Center started 30 years
ago with the establishment of a legally written
agreement among three school districts to form
a regional technical center (East San Gabriel
Valley ROP Technical Center (ESGVROP/TC)). Since
then the agency has grown to include 7 school
districts that have formed a partnership filed
with the California Secretary of State. The legal
structure of the East San Gabriel Valley ROP/Technical
Center (ESGVROP/TC) is that of a joint powers
agency formed under the auspices of Government
Code §6500. In addition to the legal body, the
partnership has expanded to include more than
30 community-based organizations and 500 businesses,
as well as numerous public agencies that partner
under written Memos of Understanding.
