The ESGVROP/TC has gained
the support and assistance of business in its development
of off-campus training, by obtaining agreements to provide
workplace learning in community sites each year. The
ESGVROP/TC uses over 250 business and community work
sites to assist in student workplace training.
Approximately 4,798 students had the opportunity
to participate in an ROP/TC workplace learning experience.
This provided the opportunity to apply both the technical
and academic skills learned in the classroom directly
in a business environment, reinforcing them in a real
work setting. In addition, new skills and knowledge
are attained at the worksite and practiced on the job.
Students gain self-esteem, maturity and an understanding
of the need for academics and further education.
