PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Teachers are encouraged to pursue professional development activities and advanced studies that include instruction in research-based knowledge about teaching and learning. One example of this level of professional support was an organizationally supported partnership with Cal Poly Pomona that has been instructing staff in Project Based Learning. Funded through UROG (Urban Rural Opportunities Grant) awarded to ESGVROP/TC, teachers have been able to apply to Cal Poly to receive post-graduate credits as well as receive in-service on the most recent research results of a highly innovative instructional strategy: Project Based Learning has been featured in publications by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).
