DSP Teacher Qualification

Instructors will be required to have experience providing services and supports to people with developmental disabilities, knowledge of the specific subject areas to be covered in the training and meet the following requirements:

1. A minimum of five (5) years experience in providing services and supports to people with developmental disabilities, with at least (3) years of those in the last five (5) years, or

2. Bachelor's Degree in a related subject area, and a minimum of three (3) years experience providing services and supports to people with developmental disabilities in the last five (5) years, or

3. Health professional license and minimum of two (2) years experience in providing services and supports to people with developmental disabilities in the last five (5) years.

4. All instructors must qualify and obtain a Designated Subjects Vocational Education Credential to work at Los Angeles County Regional Occupational Program (associated fees and supplies are the responsibility of the applicant).
