East San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational Program & Technical Center
Student Achievement 2001-2002

Each year the East San Gabriel Valley Regional Occupational Program & Technical Center celebrates its students through the issuing of scholarships and awards. This year the ROP awarded over $15,000 in scholarships to students who made the decision to continue their education at a post secondary institution.

GLOBAL BEST AWARD
In 2004, the East San Gabriel Valley ROP Technical Center was named as the winner of the Global Best Award for Partnerships that focus on “Skills Development for the Workforce”.

In addition the following students received special recognition as Outstanding Students at this years “Olympic Chapter” awards ceremony. Students are selected from 7 broad categories of occupations. The students were nominated by their instructor and selected by a panel of judges. This year over 100 students were nominated. The top seven were:

The awards were given to the students at our annual Business Partners Breakfast held June 4th at Blake’s Restaurant in West Covina. Also recognized that morning were representatives from our business affiliates. This year over 220 businesses were utilized as part of our efforts to provide the finest educational experience possible. That morning over 50 of them were present to accept their thank-yous from our Joint Board of Management and district guests.
